  • Periodontal Disease is a hidden killer. It affects more people than heart disease, Cancer, Diabetes, and Alzeimers.

Oral Health in America

“In the past half century”, we have come to recognize that the mouth is a mirror of the body. It is a sentinel of disease and it is critical to overall health and well-being.

Mouth

The sentinel of the body. Plaque (in mouth and body) is the same. Bacteria in mouth is called biofilm, which is the same bacteria in the heart called plaque

The PerioLase MVP-7 Digital TruePulse™ ND:Yag laser is the weapon to expel periodontal disease from the mouth. In the beginning, calculus hardens on the tooth, feeding the bacteria and causing gum inflammation. The gum inflammation, call Gingivitis, is what creates bleeding and swollen gums. This cascade of gingivitis to periodontal disease causes red, bleeding swollen gums and bad breath. Gingivitis converted to Periodontitis creates gum pocketing around the teeth. The gum pocketing separates the teeth from the gums and from the bone housing the teeth. Left untreated, periodontal disease progresses, infections festers, and tooth loss results.
