Veneers

Cosmetic dentistry is an increasingly common way to improve your smile’s appearance, and the expert dental team at Smiles by Dr. Josh loves to see you smile! Veneers are an easy way to achieve a more beautiful smile without relying on more invasive dental procedures. If you want to enhance your smile and be excited about showing off your new look, porcelain veneers may be a good option.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are custom-made and applied to the front sides of your teeth. Because they are specifically created to match the color and shape of your natural teeth, they’re a new and improved version of your existing smile, making them a popular cosmetic choice for many of our patients.

Are You a Candidate for Veneers?

Another benefit of porcelain veneers is the number of dental issues they can conceal; if you suffer from any of the following dental concerns, you may be eligible for veneers:

  • Discolored Teeth—If your teeth aren’t as white as you’d like them to be, veneers can erase the appearance of stains and give you a brighter, whiter smile.
  • Chipped or Cracked Teeth—If your teeth have chips, cracks, or other minor imperfections, veneers can correct those issues.
  • Misaligned Teeth—If you don’t want to wear braces or clear aligners because of a minor misalignment, veneers may be a viable option.
  • Sufficient Tooth Enamel—Your existing tooth enamel must be thick enough to support the veneers.
  • Healthy Teeth and Gums—Although you don’t need perfect oral health to be a candidate for veneers, we would need to address any evidence of tooth decay or gum disease before applying veneers to your teeth.
  • Absence of Bad Habits—If you bite your nails, use your teeth to open things, or don’t practice good oral hygiene, veneers may not be your best cosmetic option.
  • Absence of Teeth Grinding—If you suffer from bruxism, you are more likely to crack or break your veneers.

"He always goes above and beyond for his patients."

The Veneers Process

In only two trips to our dental office, we can drastically improve your smile with porcelain veneers. During your first visit, we will prepare your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel. Next, we’ll take digital impressions of your teeth so our expert lab can create your veneers. In the meantime, we’ll place temporary veneers on your teeth to protect them.

When you return for your second visit, we’ll bond your new veneers to your teeth, ensuring the proper shade and fit. That’s it!

Benefits of Veneers

Many of our patients choose veneers for the following reasons:

  • Veneers look and feel natural – Because they are custom-made to fit your teeth, no one will know you have veneers.
  • Veneers cover imperfections – Porcelain veneers can cover a wide range of dental imperfections, from chips and cracks to discoloration.
  • Veneers are minimally invasive – During your veneers procedure, we only have to remove a small amount of enamel before bonding your veneers in place.
  • Veneers are long-lasting and easy to maintain – You can expect your veneers to last for many years as long as you practice good oral hygiene.
  • Veneers increase your self-confidence – When you love how your smile looks, it shows!
